Fitness, nutrition, and athletics have been and continue to be an integral part of my life. Growing up in the Flathead Valley, I competed in a variety of sports, ranging from ballet to softball. I started CrossFit at 15 as a way to complement the sports I was playing, get stronger, and learn how to properly lift. I instantly fell in love with the sport and the competitive, yet supportive community that surrounded me. While I was one of the youngest members at the gym, I was embraced with open arms by everyone there. In fact, my squat partner was about 15 years older (and 6 inches shorter than me, which made things interesting sometimes!) I grew in that gym in ways I could never have imagined, and placed 1st in my first-ever CrossFit competition they encouraged me to compete in. That gym became a second home to me, and I could not have imagined better people to surround myself with - and I will forever be grateful for my family there.
I continued to attend CrossFit classes every day possible until I went to college on a softball scholarship. Playing for the Saints became my top priority, and I graduated from Carroll College with a degree in Biology. After college, I became an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, Sports Nutritionist, and Transformation Specialist, interning and then working at gyms across the Valley. I got my L1 and began coaching CrossFit at the box I attended before leaving for college, and once again, felt so much support from everyone there. It was about then that I realized why I loved CrossFit so much: it’s not the feeling of getting a new PR, or completing a workout you thought you might die from - it is the community. No matter where I’ve been in my CrossFit journey, I know I can walk into a box and feel like someone is going to push me to be better, cheer me on during my last rep, and truly care about who I am and how I am doing. This is exactly why I love to coach, creating an inclusive, competitive, and fun gym atmosphere.
Outside of CrossFit, I am a Life Coach for adolescents 12-17 years old at Embark Behavioral Health and am currently getting my Master's in Social Work. I spend my free time with family, friends, and my two adorable yellow labs Bear and Sophie. I also enjoy a variety of outdoor activities; coaching youth softball, going to my family’s house on McGregor Lake, and being a homebody watching movies or reading a good book. I’m a Libra, love coffee, Tamarack Brewing in Lakeside and 1000% believe in aliens – and I can’t wait to share my love of CrossFit, and the pursuit of living a better life, with you in class!
